Comma sutra? Hysterical.I'm afraid...I'm afraid I'm elipsing the shit out of everything. I think I may have to...rethink my dots. But, damn it I love those little things. They give me such a feeling of control. I am God when I drop the dots...
I always thought of commas as cute little wavers...waving bye-bye at the thought before them and clearing the path for the thought coming after them. Adorable little flags, or those posts the security guard has to tell the electronics to lift so you can pass into the hallowed territory beyond. How sad they do not have a shrine dedicated to them...tiny yet powerful creatures inhabiting our expressive prose. And I am like Fred...STAY AWAY FROM THE DOTS! Raise your finger from the delete button and back away!
Short and sweet Arlene - I kind of like that comma sutra (tee-hee)
I have the double issue - of commas being right in the UK and wrong in US use and vice versa. Well, it's a good excuse - why not use it.
